Philippine Food Expo 2026 Ignites a Global Appetite for Filipino Cuisine

The 18th Philippine Food Expo (PFE) successfully transformed the World Trade Center Metro Manila into a vibrant showcase of Filipino culinary excellence, innovation, and enterprise, drawing more than 26,000 visitors from April 17 to 19, 2026. Recognized as the country’s premier food and beverage trade show, this year’s edition highlighted the dynamic growth and global potential of the Philippine food industry.

Organized by PHILFOODEX Inc., in partnership with Cut Unlimited Inc. as the official exhibition manager, the expo gathered over 300 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). These exhibitors represented diverse regions across the archipelago, presenting a rich tapestry of local flavors, artisanal products, and food craftsmanship that celebrated the Philippines’ culinary heritage.

Carrying the theme “Feast of Philippine Flavors to the World,” the event expanded its reach with the inclusion of international pavilions featuring Malaysia and India. This strategic addition encouraged cross-border collaboration and strengthened global trade connections, contributing to an impressive ₱1.07 billion in booked and potential sales over the three-day event.

Beyond the exhibition floor, the expo offered a dynamic program of activities, seminars, and live demonstrations. Visitors experienced a blend of tradition and innovation, as industry experts shared insights on evolving food trends and sustainable practices. Exhibitors also engaged directly with buyers and fellow entrepreneurs, fostering meaningful partnerships and business opportunities.

The event opened with ceremonial ribbon-cutting rites led by the Department of Agriculture, highlighting key programs such as the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service (AMAS) and the High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP). The ceremony was complemented by performances from the Emilio Aguinaldo College Chorale and a lively presentation by Intenzyc from the University of Santo Tomas.

Throughout the expo, the main stage became a hub of culinary creativity, featuring live cooking demonstrations from renowned chefs including Abi “Lumpia Queen” Marquez, Gerick Manalo, Emily Peralta, Chris Carangian, JM Sunglao, Wado Siman, and MJ Martinez. Their sessions offered both inspiration and practical knowledge, captivating audiences with modern interpretations of Filipino cuisine.

A standout highlight was the return of the Flair Battle Philippines Flairbartending Competition. Organized by the Philippine Flairtending Tour, the competition showcased the skill, creativity, and showmanship of top bartenders. Joe Mari Castillo emerged as champion and is set to represent the Philippines at an international competition in Pattaya, Thailand.

The expo also served as a platform for learning, hosting a wide range of seminars and workshops led by institutions such as the Department of Agriculture, Department of Science and Technology, GS1 Philippines, and the University of Santo Tomas. These sessions provided valuable insights into food innovation, market trends, and entrepreneurial growth.

One of the most anticipated segments, the Culinary Challenges, brought together student chefs from 45 schools nationwide. Competing across nine categories, participants demonstrated skill and creativity while highlighting the unique flavors of Davao cuisine. Holy Angel University emerged as the overall champion, with other institutions earning top honors in their respective categories.

The success of the 18th Philippine Food Expo underscored the strength of collaboration among government agencies, private partners, and industry stakeholders. More than just a trade event, it reaffirmed its role as a vital platform for empowering local enterprises, driving innovation, and elevating Filipino flavors to the global stage.

As the expo continues to grow in scale and influence, it remains a powerful testament to the richness of Philippine cuisine and its increasing impact on the international food landscape.
