Cebu Launches First-Ever MICE Blueprint to Strengthen Global Events Industry

Cebu marked a new milestone in its tourism sector on January 28 with the launch of the Cebu MICE Guide 2025, the province’s first comprehensive blueprint to strengthen its MICE industry and position Cebu as a top destination for international events.

The guidebook was unveiled at the newly inaugurated Mactan Expo by Department of Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, Tourism Promotions Board Chief Operating Officer Marga Nograles, and Cebu MICE Alliance President Cleofe Albiso, on the sidelines of the ASEAN Travel Exchange (TRAVEX).

Developed by the Cebu MICE Alliance with support from the Department of Tourism, the Cebu MICE Guide 2025 serves as a practical resource for event planners and organizers, highlighting the province’s venues, accommodations, service providers, and unique destination experiences.

Tourism Secretary Frasco emphasized that Cebu’s strength lies not only in its modern infrastructure and strong air connectivity, but in its people. From skilled event organizers and hospitality teams to transport providers and community workers, Cebu’s professional ecosystem ensures that every event is delivered with excellence and warmth.

Cebu MICE Alliance President Cleofe Albiso likewise noted that ongoing infrastructure developments, upgraded transport systems, and new convention spaces are shaping a seamless and secure environment for conferences, exhibitions, destination weddings, and cultural festivals.

With its strategic location, robust infrastructure, and renowned Filipino hospitality, Cebu is poised to become a leading MICE destination in Southeast Asia, welcoming the world to connect, collaborate, and experience the best of the Queen City of the South.
