“Because of You” Singer and Songwriter, Keith Martin has Died

Keith Eric Martin is an American R&B singer-songwriter and record producer. Martin, who was best known for writing and singing romantic love songs, has just died at 55 years old in his condo unit.

Martin released his first album, It’s Long Overdue in 1995, which peaked at #82 on the US Billboard R&B Albums chart. His first single, “Never Find Someone Like You” (which was also independently recorded by Backstreet Boys before) peaked at #53 on the Billboard Hot 100 and at #43 on the R&B Singles chart and was included in the platinum-selling Bad Boys soundtrack.

Keith’s friends are planning for a tribute as he is well-loved by everyone especially his stay in the Philippines. He was very approachable and according to Tag Media Group CEO, Grace Bondad Nicolas, Keith was always in full support of their projects including as performer and judge at Asia’s Best Singing Competition and Asia Leaders Awards which the company produces.

“I met Keith at The E Hotel in Makati in 2018 when we had the activity under Asia’s Best Singing Competition, so I approached him right away if he can be part of us knowing his talent as an American superstar with his super song ‘Because of You.’ He gladly accepted it right away and the rest is history. I actually approached him also last March 17, 2022, to join us in the launch of ‘Rising Tigers Magazine’ but he didn’t see my message which was actually a surprise since, in all our transactions, he was very quick to reply. So when I heard from our good friend Direk Adonis Tabanda about him last March 25, 2022, we were all in shocked. All of us in Tag Media Group. We’re very sad to think he is so young and talented. He will be missed by everyone.”

“My daughter, Andria’s first single also was composed by Keith, and that’s why he really was close to our hearts.”

Martin was so busy in the music industry producing, writing, and releasing several solo albums, gaining him a large fan base throughout the world. His ballad, “Because Of You”, is still a major favorite in the US and Asia.
