Business lessons from the Financing magnate | Rajan Uttamchandani

Much has been said about being a nation builder but for the Financing magnate, Rajan Uttamchandani, a nation builder is a person or organization that puts their country and its people above themselves. Self-sacrifice for the greater good. A nation-builder focuses on resolving social-economic and political issues.

Through his company Esquire Financing, Rajan Uttamchandani has brought collateral-free loans for small businesses to the Philippines. Just recently under the event of Go Negosyo, The financing company of Rajan, a billionaire, reportedly gave away 200 interest-free loans of up to P50,000 per customer amounting to P10 million, making it the biggest sponsor of the event which provided a major boost to MSMEs and start-ups looking for opportunities to start their own businesses or to fuel up their existing projects in the country.

Rajan, a soft-spoken tycoon is always inspired by Mahatma Gandhi: Gandhi was an Indian independence activist who is known for his philosophy of nonviolence and his role in leading India to independence. He was a humble man who believed in the power of ordinary people to bring about positive change, and he inspired millions through his leadership and example.

“I am also inspired by the stoics like Marcus Aurelius and Seneca.”

Leading a virtuous life: A Stoic person would try to lead a virtuous life, guided by wisdom, integrity, and fairness, and striving to do good and help others.

Seeking wisdom and understanding: A Stoic person might try to seek wisdom and understanding through study and contemplation, in order to better understand the world and their place in it.

“Success is being able to make the world a better place while generating time for what’s important.”

For Rajan, being an entrepreneur is a challenging but rewarding journey, and it is a great opportunity to turn your passions and ideas into something tangible and meaningful.

Here are a few things to keep in mind according to Rajan to become successful.

Believe in yourself: Starting a business requires a lot of hard work, dedication, and perseverance, and it is important to believe in yourself and your abilities. Don’t be afraid to take risks and try new things, and don’t let setbacks discourage you.

“Your network is your net worth”

Surround yourself with supportive people: Building a business can be a lonely and isolating experience at times, and it is important to have a strong support system to help you through the highs and lows. Surround yourself with people who believe in you and your vision, and who can offer encouragement and guidance.

Learn from your mistakes: Building a business is a process of trial and error, and it is important to be open to learning from your mistakes. Don’t be afraid to try new things, and be willing to adapt and pivot as needed.

Stay focused and committed: Building a business requires a lot of focus and dedication, and it is important to stay committed to your vision and goals. It can be easy to get distracted by shiny objects or to lose sight of your long-term objectives, so make sure to stay focused on what is important.

His message to those new and upcoming entrepreneurs: “Building a business is a marathon, not a sprint, and it is important to take care of yourself and your well-being as you work towards your goals. Good luck on your journey, and don’t forget to enjoy the ride!”
